The name Captain Jack Sparrow has now become a household name.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides premiered globally this past weekend. In the U.S. it opened with $90.1 million, but its $256.3 million opening overseas made it eh largest foreign debut ever.

In the United States the $90.1 million opening surpassed Fast Five which opened at $86.2 million to secure the year's largest opening.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which is the fourth movie of the franchise, received the weakest reviews out of all the movies.

In the fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, and Barbossa, played by Geoffrey Rush, embark on a journey to find the mysterious fountain of youth. They soon discover that Balckbeard and his daughter are after the same fountain as well. The film also stars Penelope Cruz, as Angelica, Ian McShane as Blackbeard and Keith Richards as Captain Teague.
