  • Apple blocked "Fortnite" on the App Store in August
  • Since then, "Fortnite" players could now download updates on the game app
  • A new report claims that there is a way that "Fortnite" players could enjoy the game on their iOS devices soon

A “Fortnite” update that allowed players to purchase in-game currency at a lower rate if they bought directly from Epic Games pushed Apple to remove the game from the App Store and caused the ongoing lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple.

The fiasco had players assuming that they would not be able to play the battle royale title in the future, but a new report claims that there might be a way to play the hit game on iOS devices with the arrival of Nvidia GeForce Now.

BBC reports that “Fortnite” would run through the upcoming cloud gaming service from Nvidia called GeForce Now. While the service has not been announced for iOS yet, the publication says an announcement is imminent sometime before the holidays. The process is not as easy as simply opening the “Fortnite” app, but those who want to enjoy the game on their devices could look into the process of how it is done.

The GeForce Now is a gaming service that runs in the mobile web browser Safari instead of being a standalone app. It enables subscribers to stream their personal library of games to mobile phones, laptops and other devices. Through this process, users can open the iOS Safari browser, access their accounts and run any game or app that they have access to.

The only thing preventing players from playing “Fortnite” on their iOS devices is there is only one way to download and update the game and that is through the App Store. The game wasn't made available in this way in the past because no cloud gaming service could cater to this kind of possibility. Nvidia’s GeForce Now has exited beta and its paid service launched in February.

This tier can stream games to Chromebooks, Windows PC, Macs, Android devices and Nvidia Shield. The GeForce Now competes against several game streaming services in the industry. This includes Google stadia, Amazon Luna and Microsoft xCloud.
