Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ONXX) stock climbed 23.37 percent to $55.00 in pre-market trading. The company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee (ODAC) unanimously recommended approval of Onyx's drug, Kyprolis, to treat a deadly blood cancer.

QuinStreet Inc. (QNST) stock surged 4.05 percent to $9.50 in pre-market trading. QuinStreet will replace eResearchTechnology in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading Wednesday, June 27.

Molycorp, Inc. (MCP) stock gained 2.54 percent to $23.00 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $19.11, a 52-week high of $66.62 and $2.16 billion in market capitalization.

EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (EZCH) stock advanced 1.46 percent to $39.74 in pre-market trading.

Red Hat Inc. (RHT) stock slumped 10.48 percent to $50.58 in pre-market trading as its first quarter billings missed some analysts' estimate. Billings rose 16 percent to $310 million but fell short of some analysts' expectation of 18 percent gain. The company reported first quarter net income of $58.0 million or $0.30 per share, up from $47.0 million or $0.24 per share in the same period a year-earlier.

Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMPE) stock plunged 4.05 percent to $3.79 in pre-market trading. The company announced the outcome of its pre-IND meeting with the CDER Urology and Reproductive group (DRUP) division of the FDA that took place June 20, 2012.

Mechel OAO (MTL) stock plunged 3.27 percent to $6.50 in pre-market trading. The company reported first quarter earnings Wednesday. Quarter net profit declined to $218.02 million from $309.12 million in the same period a year earlier.

Nokia Corp. (NOK) stock plunged 3.20 percent to $2.42 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.30, a 52-week high of $7.38 and $9.36 billion in market capitalization.
