Halsey prefers to be referred to using the pronouns "she" or "they," based on their updated social media bios.

The "Without Me" singer quietly updated their bio on Instagram Saturday, and it now reads, "doing everything, all at once, always, while I can. (she/they)." Eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed the changes, which led to Halsey trending on Twitter after netizens expressed their support for her move.

"It actually rocks for Halsey to come out as a she/they while heavily pregnant," one tweeted, while another added, "Halsey She/They!!! Proud of them!!!!"

"halsey uses she/they pronouns :)) I’ve looked up to them for years and especially when I was figuring out my gender n sexuality so this is v cool news !" another added.

"i’m so proud of halsey for coming out about their pronouns. this must have been a hard decision but i’m glad they did it. all the transphobic a—holes in the qrts can f—k off," a fourth user commented.

“I could cry I’m so happy,” one person wrote, with another commenting, “no like actually this means so f—king much to me because I’ve been struggling w my gender identity so much lately.”

Hasley has apparently seen the comments and is thankful for the support. The "Bad at Love" singer took to Instagram Saturday and wrote "thank you," along with a red heart emoji.

Halsey is open about being bisexual and an "inconvenient woman." The singer also admitted that they moved to New York due to a guy they had been following.

"I was following a boy. I was 17. He was 23, and he had a really serious heroin addiction," Halsey said in a previous interview.

The "New Americana" singer had a rough time growing up after being diagnosed with bipolar diorder and ending up in a psychiatric hospital.

Halsey is also aware that many easily misunderstand them because of their tattoos and half-shaved hairstyle. But their love for music and performance is what keeps them alive.

"I could be having the worst day of my life, hate my body, think I’m fat, think I suck, and as soon as I hear the first few notes of my intro, that all goes away," they said. "Everything that I hate about myself goes away when I walk onstage. That’s why I cling to it so much — it keeps me from killing myself."

Halsey is expecting their first baby with boyfriend Alev Aydin. In a previous post on their Instagram Story, the singer fired back at speculations about her pregnancy, writing, "My pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this bb," People reported.
