Achraf Hakimi holds an uncertain future and it appears it will stay that way for now. Reports surfaced that the 21-year-old Morocco international agreed to a new contract at the Bernabeu which would have kept him there until 2023. Unfortunately, all of this is untrue according to the right-back's agent.

Alejandro Camano has rebuked previous reports from Marca that Hakimi had signed a new deal with Real Madrid. According to Goal, Camano said this is misleading and that talks need to be done between them, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund once the coronavirus pandemic settles down.

"There is no basis at all (relating to the Marca report about Hakimi's contract). His contract at Real Madrid is still the same one we negotiated in 2017 and it runs until 2022," Camano said.

Hakimi has made quite an impression in the two years. He is currently on loan and performing well, one of the main fixtures under the watch of Lucien Favre. The Moroccan has made 22 starts in the team's 2019-20 campaign, scoring three goals and 10 assists.

In the Champions League, Hakimi was also a key figure for Dortmund. He has scored four goals in eight appearances, a reason why there are now multiple teams considering him. Among those clubs include Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

A move to Real Madrid is something that Hakimi wants. He mentioned this in the past but also said that if fate disallows it, he would be fine playing for any team that could put him to good use. He also wants to play under Zinedine Zidane, the same man he credits for giving him the chance to play professional football.

"I've really enjoyed myself there and played lots of games there. If Madrid want me to go back, I'll go back. And if not, I'll have to write the next chapter at another great club," Hakimi said.

For now, he is pretty happy with Dortmund with the club giving him all the opportunities to develop and improve. At 21, there is still a lot ahead for Hakimi and the time will come when a call from Real, or any of the top teams mentioned above, would reward him with a much-deserved contract and role.
