  • Jorge trying to stay level-headed amidst Juventus interest
  • Jorge leaving it up to agent to deal with transfer talks
  • Multiple teams also in pursuit of Jorge

Teams are targeting multiple young footballers in preparation for the future. One name that has been making noise is Kaio Jorge. The 18-year-old is currently playing for Santos FC Reserves and Academy and his performance has captured the attention of several clubs. At the top of the list is Juventus which has reportedly already considered triggering his release clause worth about $81 million.

With big money on the table, other players would probably get blinded. But that is not the case for the 18-year-old Brazilian who is leaving it to his agent to handle these transfer talks. He would rather focus on what he loves doing best and for a team where he is undeniably happy with, Corriere Dello Sport reported.

“I leave these things to my agent. I don’t get involved, he manages them,” Jorge said. “Right now, I’m very happy at Santos and I want to keep doing well, growing and improving my football. Every day I learn something new and get stronger,” he added.

Jorge has become one of the latest rising young stars that could be moving soon. He is the sixth youngest player to play for Santos where he made his Serie A debut back in September 2018. Jorge signed a three-year contract in January 2019 which means his deal will not end until 2022.

But it appears he may not last that long with Juventus and other teams expressing interest in getting him from Santastico. According to team president Jose Carlos Peres, there are also two Italian and one French team have been aggressively holding discussions about the Brazilian forward, Calcio Mercato reported.

"The market hasn't stopped even a second. I receive calls as normal. Football has stopped but the negotiations are still ongoing," Peres said. "Two other Italian teams are very active as well as a French one. However, since no news has come out in the press, I cannot reveal the names," he added.

Jorge has scored only once for Santos but won the Bronze Ball when he played at the Under-17 World Cup last year. He scored five goals and had an assist for Brazil which won the tournament for the fourth time.

Peres added that though the original price was at $81 million, they were open to negotiation. It appears that the last figures were at $32 million. He confirmed that Juve did ask about Jorge but has yet to make a formal offer for the Brazilian footballer.
