  • Ceballos is likely staying with Real Madrid
  • Ceballos hopes to finish current obligation with Arsenal
  • Arsenal diverts focus to Jesse Lingard

Dani Ceballos remains unsure of what the future holds since the fate of the current season has yet to decide. He is aware that he needs to finish out the season with Arsenal, a club that is reportedly interested in getting him from Real Madrid.

Aside from the Gunners, Juventus is also another team interested in the 23-year-old midfielder. But based on his latest revelation, it appears that Real Madrid has no plans of letting him go that easily. He mentioned how he got the chance to talk with Zinedine Zidane several months ago as he was recovering from an injury.

"I saw Zidane in Valdebebas a few months ago when I was recovering from my injury and he told me that he watched my games with Arsenal," Ceballos said to DAZN. "He always told me that my future is in Real Madrid and that I needed to be patient because I will likely have a chance."

Ceballos missed about two months of action due to a muscle strain. He was able to return and was looking good before the COVID-19 spoiled his run with games forcibly suspended. For now, he just has to wait and conclude his present commitment with Arsenal. In a previous post, Ceballos says he wants to play for a team where he is important. He got that with the Gunners before the coronavirus placed everything on hold.

Based on recent developments, Ceballos may best stick it out with Real. Arsenal may be interested but team officials admitted they may not have the proper finances for the 23-year-old Spanish footballer. The Athletic mentioned that Arsenal has already diverted their focus on other players. One name that is allegedly high on the list of Mikel Arteta is Jesse Lingard.

The only other team that expressed interest in Ceballos was Sevilla. But since he played for Betis, he reveals that it would be awkward to see him play for his former team's fierce rival.

Given these scenarios, it appears Ceballos will remain at Bernabeu and likely suit up for Real Madrid next season. For now, he needs to fulfill his obligation with Arsenal and deal with what comes next. With no word on when football action will resume, that could take some time.
