  • Chiesa move out of Fiorentina imminent
  • Fiorentina owner appears to be ready to deal away Chiesa
  • Juventus likely to win race for Chiesa

The current Premier League season has yet to resume but several transfer rumors are already in the air. Another promising star is in the spotlight in Federico Chiesa of Fiorentina. The 22-year-old has been repeatedly linked to a move out of Florence with four teams hot on his tail. But of the four teams, it appears Juventus has the lead.

Starting for Fiorentina, Chiesa has already appeared in 139 matches for La Viola and 17 times for Italy. A reason suggested on the potential transfer is that ACF Fiorentina has not exactly performed well. They finished 16th last season and are now 13th in Serie A. The poor performance has led to some of their best players moving out and joining teams holding a better winning culture.

For Chiesa, the four teams pursuing him are Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham were previously linked as well but are believed to have bowed out of the race for the Italian. Juventus is seen to have the edge but the fee that Fiorentina is asking remains unclear. But a rough estimate is that La Viola is unlikely to accept anything less than £50 million.

But it appears a move out of Florence is not on the mind of Chiesa. The Italian footballer said to Corriere Dello Sport via Football Italia that there are no negotiations for now and any discussion about his future will be handled by his father, Enrico Chiesa.

"My objective is to improve in general, not just on a technical level because I am the first to acknowledge that I need to become a more complete player," Chiesa said.

Chiesa is under contract until 2022 but it appears a transfer is imminent. Regardless, the 22-year-old is trying to focus and honor his current commitment with Fiorentina and will worry about any potential move out of Florence later. Chiesa scored 12 goals last season, six coming from Serie A. He has six goals to show so far this season.

And while Chiesa remains in denial, it appears club owner Rocco Commisso is ready to part ways with the winger if the offer is fair in an interview with Radio Bruno Toscana in a report from Goal.com. He also stressed that he has not offered the Italian footballer any new deal and it seems there may be none coming.

"If he wants to go then I'm sorry, but we'd accommodate him, providing the offer is fair. We must also see what he's worth," Commiso said.
