Prince Andrew’s Epstein scandal is not damaging to Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duke of York is in hot water for his connections to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. For months, the royal family members including Prince Andrew kept their silence. However, the duke has finally decided to speak up about the issue.

“This first came out in 2011...It was a surprise to all of us because the photographs were published at a different time to when I was there...as a family we discussed it,” Prince Andrew told BBC’s “Newsnight.”

“And then in 2015 when the allegations were made and the deposition, there was a sort of...and this was the immediate family not the wider family...the wider family were couldn't be more supportive...the immediate family it was ‘what’s all this about...and we were all at a loss.”

When asked if the allegations against him had been damaging to Queen Elizabeth II, the duke said, “I don’t think it’s been damaging to the Queen at all…it has to me.”

Prince Andrew added that he was not in a position to answer all the questions. He was reportedly in the dark just like many people. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson has been very supportive. In fact, the Duchess of York has publicly declared her support for her ex-spouse.

Ferguson took to Instagram and praised Prince Andrew for being honest and steadfast in his beliefs. She also described Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s dad as a “true and real gentleman.“

However, many were not impressed with Prince Andrew’s decision to speak up his mind about the matter. Princess Eugenie was spotted at the John F. Kennedy International Airport and netizens noticed that the royal looked sad.

According to some royal fans, Prince Andrew’s controversy is taking a toll on his family. Another netizen opined that Prince Andrew should have not spoken up.

In related news, Princess Beatrice is reportedly not inviting Prince Andrew on her big day. The next royal bride does not want any drama on her big day, so she allegedly tearfully told her dad that he was banned from her wedding.
