Prince William recently shared a hilarious story about his dad, Prince Charles, and squirrels.

While speaking with Country Life, the dad of three said that the future King is completely infatuated with red squirrels to the extent that he has given each one a name. Prince Charles has also allowed the squirrels into his home in Scotland

According to People, Prince Charles supports efforts to help red squirrels out of extinction after their numbers have fallen from 3.5 million to 250,000 in his lifetime.

In the past, Prince Charles has also opened up about the rare breed of squirrels.

“They come into the house at Birkhall and we get them chasing each other round and round inside. If I sit there quietly, they will do so around me. Sometimes, when I leave my jackets on a chair with nuts in the pockets, I see them with their tails sticking out, as they hunt for nuts – they are incredibly special creatures,” he said.

In related news, the Duke of Cambridge also shared how proud he is of his dad during his recent interview.

“His passion for the environment and the natural world is something I want to repeat in the way I raise George, Charlotte, and Louis,” he declared.

Growing up, Prince Charles taught his sons everything they needed to know about the natural world.

“From the burns to the trees to the hills. He was also there when I went on my first trip to Africa and helped me learn about the global environment,” he said.

Prince Charles’ editorial piece for Country Life was released to commemorate his 70th birthday. Other than the article, Prince Charles’ birthday portraits with Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have also been released.

The two snaps taken by Getty photographer Chris Jackson featured the Prince sitting on a bench beside his wife. One of the pictures is a formal shot and the other one is an informal shot that showed Prince Charles playing and laughing with Prince George and his other family members.
