Prince Charles will be a different monarch from Queen Elizabeth II.

Tom Bower, author of "Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles," claimed that the Prince of Wales is not a unifier like his mother. He also explained that the future king is to blame for his detractors. "That reflects on Charles for causing those people to have a grievance," Bower told Reuters. "You don't find people speaking with grievances against the queen."

"Charles does the opposite. He divides the nation between those who like him and dislike him, he divides his own court, he creates hostility when he be creating harmony and that's his trait," he added.

Bower finds Prince Charles intelligent, kind and sensitive, but also selfish and ungrateful. He also explained why he calls the second-in-line to the throne a rebel.

"He has a view of the world and he wants to impose his view of that world, so in every way he doesn't want to conform to expectations, so that makes him a rebel," Bower explained. "I think that if he's a rebel king, the monarchy will be in danger and I think that is the great problem we face."

In his books, Bower claimed that Prince Charles travels with his entire bedroom and toilet seat. The Duke of Cornwall has already denied this. Former aids who have worked closely with the Prince of Wales also denied Bower's claims.

Bower is not the only person who has claimed that Prince Charles has outrageous and bizarre demands. He was dubbed as the "pampered prince" by Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former bodyguard. The royal reportedly "has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning." There was also a time when Prince Charles called him to pick a letter from the Queen that fell into his wastepaper bin.

"Grown up in such a privileged lifestyle, he doesn't have the mechanics to choose for himself anymore," Burrell explained. "Everything is done for him."

In related news, Prince Charles is still on his West African tour, and he and Camilla have visited Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria. The couple axed their trip to Jos city after being advised by the Nigerian officials to cancel it as the place is plagued by violence.
