Reports about Queen Elizabeth's possible retirement have been making rounds online for quite some time now. Her Majesty is said to be considering stepping down to focus more on her health and life with Prince Philip. Now, new claims are saying that Prince Charles might be announced as the new King of the United Kingdom around the Queen’s 95th birthday.

Royal correspondent Robert Jobson revealed details of Queen Elizabeth’s alleged retirement plan. ”Her Majesty is mindful of her age and wants to make sure when the time comes, the transition of the Crown is seamless,” Robert, who is also a former senior member of the Royal household, said. “I understand the Queen has given the matter considerable thought and believes that, if she is still alive at 95, she will seriously consider passing the reign to Charles,” he went on.

Reports have it that Queen Elizabeth has been passing on some of her official duties to Prince Charles and Prince William in the past few years. This, according to reports, is an obvious sign that Her Majesty is already slowing down and considering retiring very soon.

The Sun also reported that there have been talks about Queen Elizabeth’s possible retirement inside the palace. The outlet said Her Majesty could step down when she turns 95 in 2021, which is the same age Prince Philip departed his Royal life.

It added that, while Queen Elizabeth remains hands-on, she has been reducing her public duties and engagements. In fact, Prince Charles already took place at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. The husband of Camilla Parker-Bowles will also be gracing the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Rwanda in 2020.

“The scandal surrounding Andrew and Epstein gave Charles an opportunity to step in to show that he can run The Firm. Noone is bigger than the institution of the Royal Family. Not even Andrew, the Queen’s favorite son,” a source told The Sun. “Charles has had discussions with William. They both know what he wants to do with the kingship. There’s no doubt Charles will also be pulling Prince Harry and Meghan into line once they return from their private break,” it added.

Prince Charles has yet to comment on these reports. It is important to note, however, that all of these will remain rumors until everything is proven true and correct. Hence, avid followers of Prince Charles, Prince William, Queen Elizabeth and the other members of the Royal family should take these reports with a grain of salt.
