Prince George could be on Santa's naughty list this year for a reason.

According to Laura O'Callaghan, a journalist for Express, Prince William and Kate Middleton's eldest son is the same as any 5-year-old with his own naughty habits. Prince George reportedly developed this "dreadful" habit that was presumably passed on by his father and late grandmother, Princess Diana.

"I could not resist opening my presents, as a parcel of any shape or form has never been safe with me," Princess Diana told a friend in a letter in 1985. "I fear that William has also picked up this dreadful habit from his mother, as I find wrapping paper undone in the most extraordinary places!"

When it comes to presents, Prince Charles reportedly spends "a fortune on toys" for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. According to a source, the Prince of Wales is doing this to make up for his absence when Prince William and Prince Harry were growing up.

"Charles wasn’t around much when William and Harry were younger and if he could turn back time, he would’ve done things differently, but he’s learned from his mistakes," a source said. "These days, he's more family-oriented."

In addition, Prince Charles also did his best to make his grandchildren at ease during his official birthday photoshoot. According to royal photographer Chris Jackson, the Duke of Cornwall was very hands-on when it came to Prince William and Middleton's children.

"He is a very hands-on grandfather. He was holding hands with George and Charlotte, and bouncing Louis up and down for a long time," Jackson told Sunday Times. "George was very happy on the prince's knee. They have a great relationship that's a little more established, as George is a bit older."

In related news, on BBC One's 60-minute documentary "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70," Prince William revealed that he wanted the future king to spend more time with his grandchildren. "Does he have time to be a grandfather on top of everything else?" filmmaker John Bridcut asked Prince William.

"It's something I'm working on heavily. I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children," Prince William replied.
