Prince Harry knew that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children could overshadow him and Meghan Markle in the future.

In January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. At present, Prince Harry and Markle are in the U.S. living near her mom Doria Ragland and friends.

Following their decision to step out, the couple lost everything they presumed were theirs and they were forbidden to perform any royal duties, represent the Queen to the Commonwealth and use their highest titles.

Caitlin Flanagan of The Atlantic said that Prince and Markle’s future is not certain. At present many still support them but Prince Harry has always known that his nephews and niece can cancel them out.

“The couple’s future isn’t certain,” Flanagan wrote. “They are hugely appealing and glamorous. Everyone in Hollywood is eager to host them. The first few years of this plan are going to be heady. But—as Harry has often said—as soon as William’s three children become old enough to emerge as individual figures, the klieg lights will immediately turn to them.”

Flanagan was referring to an old interview of Prince Harry with royal biographer Angela Levin in 2017.

“I feel there is just a smallish window when people are interested in me before [William's kids] take over, and I've got to make the most of it, ” Prince Harry said.

Meanwhile Flanagan also added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “overplayed their hand severely.” She stressed that the monarch doesn’t need them, not at the price they were asking.

Earlier this year, Queen Elizabeth II prohibited Prince Harry and Markle to use the title Sussex Royal. The couple fired back by saying that the Queen has no jurisdiction on the word “royal” internationally and stressed that they had no plans on using it.

Netizens praised the Queen for her decision. According to them, Her Majesty outplayed Markle and Prince Harry.

A few days ago, Prince Harry and Markle announced Archewell, their new nonprofit organization. The royal couple said that they wanted the organization “to do something of meaning, to do something that matters.”
