Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship has remained frosty despite the latter being in the United Kingdom.

The Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex have no plans to meet despite their proximity in Windsor. Royal correspondent Omid Scobie, a co-author of "Finding Freedom," spoke with several anonymous sources to address various speculations, including claims that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are avoiding Prince Harry and Markle.

"There's a laughable effort to suggest the [Sussexes] have been shunned," someone familiar with the current family dynamic told Scobie. "The true story is, they never reached out to the Cambridges."

"Looking at [the coverage], you would be forgiven for thinking that certain family members have had a say in the matter. They have not," a senior palace aide told the royal scribe.

A family friend also told Scobie that there was no development in their relationship since all parties involved were not taking any action.

"People are desperate for steps to be made, but behind the scenes, there hasn't been movement," the family friend said. "What [Harry] is waiting for is accountability... Many lines were crossed by William. He was at the center of a number of painful moments, be it the actions of his own staff or turning his back when support was needed. It was a dark time and one that, so far, William has been unprepared to unpack."

The tipster added that the future king is "still waiting" for an apology from his younger brother for airing their family issues to the public. They are in the same state today as years ago.

"When you look at the bare facts, it becomes obvious why it is pretty much the same state of affairs as years ago," the source continued.

International Business Times could not independently verify the claims.

Meanwhile, the royal staff in Windsor are reportedly panicking about unwanted run-ins between the royal siblings and the Duke of York. The Cambridges are staying in Adelaide Cottage, the Sussexes are in their official residence, the Frogmore Cottage, and Prince Andrew is staying at the Royal Lodge. The three residences reportedly share gardens within the estate.

"Staff are in hysterics because they literally live a stone's throw from each other, and they don't get along," an unnamed source told Page Six.

The source added that it would be unlikely for the three families to use the area at once due to their animosity.
