Prince Harry and Prince William did not talk for months after the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, expressed their intention to leave the royal family, a royal biographer revealed.

In an interview with host Kate Thornton on True Royalty TV, Omid Scobie, co-author of a new controversial tell-all book about the Sussexes, claimed that the siblings refused to communicate for two months following Prince Harry’s decision to divulge their departure from the influential clan, dubbed “Megxit,” on social media.

The royal correspondent, who was promoting “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of the Modern Royal Family,” said that Prince Harry and Prince William had barely spoken to each other since the Sandringham summit, Page Six reported.

“They hadn’t seen each other. That’s really going to take some time to heal. I think the distance between the brothers grew wider and wider,” Scobie said.

He noted that there are several factors that led to the rift, which, Scobie said, would be discussed in the book.

The author believes Prince William was most upset about Markle and Prince Harry choosing to reveal how they would resign from their royal posts and become financially independent to the public without discussing their plans with the family first.

“The statements weren’t discussed internally. That’s really what caused the most amount of hurt to William because he wears two hats,” Scobie said.

Being the future king, Prince William saw his younger brother’s move as damaging to the “reputation” of the royal family, the journalist said.

“It put family business out into the public domain when it should’ve been discussed privately and there was a lot of hurt there that continues to this day,” the author continued.

Scobie also felt that there wasn’t much effort exerted into making Prince Harry and Markle stay, adding that Middleton and the former “Suits” star’s relationship “never progressed that far.”

Meanwhile, a source recently told Us Weekly that “Finding Freedom” has only made Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship “worse.”

“'Finding Freedom' has made things worse between them,” the source said.

The insider claimed that while they “are working on getting their relationship back on track,” the brothers still have “issues” to work out between them.

Scobie and co-author Carolyn Durand's “Finding Freedom” dropped Aug. 11.
