Prince Harry triggered a major security alert at his boarding school.

The Duke of Sussex was infamous for his troublesome streak. According to royal author Katie Nicholl in her book 2010 book “William and Harry,” one time, Prince Harry sparked a major security alert for his protection officer due to a GPS error.

“It was Harry who triggered a security alert at the school when he lost his GPS satellite tag one evening,” Nicholl wrote.

“Both he and William had been instructed to wear the tags every day so that their protection officers could track them even if they weren’t actually with them,” the expert added. So, there was chaos when Prince Harry lost his.

After several frantic minutes, Prince Harry’s device was finally located beneath his dirty clothes in his laundry bin. Nicholl also mentioned how Meghan Markle’s husband reassured his dorm mates of their safety.

“When the alarms at nearby Broadmoor High Security Hospital were tested, Harry would assure his friends, ‘Don’t worry! our policemen will protect us all from any baddies,’” Nicholl wrote.

Prince William only removed his electronic security tag for the first time when he was 17 and he was very delighted with it. The Duke of Cambridge did it when he was in the remote mountains of Patagonia during his gap year.

Nicholl also recalled how different Prince William and Prince Harry were at school. According to the expert, while Prince William had grown out of childish pranks and immersed himself in studies, Prince Harry earned the reputation for being the class clown. Due to Prince Harry’s misbehavior, he was dubbed “troublesome clown.”

One time, Prince Harry egged his schoolmates to moon the photographers who gathered when Prince Charles and Princess Diana visited him at school. One of Prince Harry’s friend defended him and explained that he didn’t actually force their schoolmates. Prince William’s brother only dared them and they did it, according to Harry’s friend.

Due to Prince Harry’s misconducts, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were in despair. At one point, Prince Harry also thought of leaving his royal life for good. The Duke of Sussex was reportedly a reluctant royal and was willing to abandon all his royal rights and privileges. Queen Elizabeth II convinced Prince Harry to stay by forgiving him.
