Prince Harry’s real name is Henry, but there is a reason why he is referred to as Harry.

According to Cosmopolitan, the Duke of Sussex was born Prince Henry of Wales and his full name is Henry Charles Albert David. Following his birth, People released a cover story on Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s second child and his real name was also mentioned.

The title of the article was “Di’s Pride and Joy: Move over, William – little Prince Henry is checking into the royal nursery.” Clarence House also used Prince Harry’s official given name during his engagement to Meghan Markle in November 2017.

According to the publication, Harry is a diminutive of Henry. This simply means that Prince Charles and Princess Diana just decided that they like to call their son Harry instead of Henry and that’s exactly what they did. But on official documents, Prince Harry is known as Prince Henry.

In related news, Prince Harry also made headlines this week after all of his major life changes to show support for Meghan Markle’s pregnancy was revealed. Multiple sources have claimed that Markle has banned Prince Harry from drinking tea and alcohol. He now simply drinks mineral water.

Omid Scobie, a royal commentator, revealed in October that Prince Harry swapped champagne for water to toast at a royal reception. Markle, who is pregnant with her first child, could not drink champagne.

One of Prince Harry’s friends said that Markle should be credited for helping Prince Harry quit his excessive drinking habits.

“Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” the friend told Express.

Markle also encouraged Prince Harry to exercise regularly, and the Duke of Sussex also does a bit of yoga. The 34-year-old prince no longer poisons his body, and he also eats well all because of Markle. In fact, Prince Harry has also tried a vegan diet.

“Meghan is a keen animal lover and likes to eat vegan during the week and she has a strict no-fur policy. She has also been encouraging Harry to eat less meat and more fruits and veg,” a source said.
