Prince Philip could not stand to share a room with a particular royal.

The Duke of Edinburgh is outspoken, so he is not afraid to speak his mind. Aside from this, the 98-year-old royal is reportedly not forgiving especially to Sarah Ferguson after the scandal she brought to the royal family.

According to Express, Prince Philip couldn’t afford to be in the same room with his former daughter-in-law. The royal family was very disappointed with the Duchess of York’s toegate scandal and Prince Philip is the “frostiest” towards Ferguson.

Ferguson has remained friends with her ex-husband. The Queen has started to warm to her, but Prince Philip is still very cold to Prince Andrew’s ex-wife. Since Prince Philip doesn’t want to be in the same room with Ferguson, they were caught in a sticky situation last summer.

Last year, Ferguson joined Queen Elizabeth II in Balmoral with Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice. Prince Philip arrived earlier than they expected, so the Duchess of York was forced to leave the Queen’s estate in no time. This incident happened again last month. Ferguson left earlier again when she learned that Prince Philip was about to arrive in Scotland to visit his wife.

Prince Philip and Ferguson are avoiding each other. According to royal expert Katie Nicholl on Channel 5’s “The Royal Family at War,” the Duke of Edinburgh has not forgiven the Duchess of York.

“Up until that point, she had enjoyed warm rapport with her father-in-law but from that moment on the Duke of Edinburgh never forgave Sarah for the embarrassment and the humiliation that she had reaped,” Katie Nicholl said.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson remain amicable years after their divorce. In fact, there are rumors that they have reconciled already. Following Ferguson’s summer vacation in Balmoral with Queen Elizabeth II last month, the Duke and Duchess of York were spotted landing in Malaga together. They were seen getting off a private jet and riding the same car. The exes were reportedly going to their favorite Spanish hideaway Sotogrande.

However, Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s second shot at love might not be easy due to his father’s issue with his ex-wife. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believed that it’s unlikely for Prince Philip and Ferguson to reconcile due to the damage she brought to the royal family. The royal expert added that even if Prince Philip attended Princess Eugenie’s wedding and posed for a photo with Ferguson, it was not an indication that he has warmed up to her.
