  • Prince William has greater approval rating as king in Canada
  • More Canadians prefer Prince William to be their king
  • Prince William won't succeed Queen Elizabeth

Prince William reportedly has a great approval rating than Prince Charles in Canada.

An online study was conducted by the Angus Reid Institute (ARI), an independent research organization, in Canada between Jan. 13 and 14. Over 1,000 Canadian adults were asked who would they support or oppose as the future king of the country.

Prince William received a 58 percent approval rating, and only 42 percent said that they didn’t want him to be king. On the other hand, Prince Charles only received 43 percent of support from the participants and a whopping 57 percent opposing the move.

Unfortunately for Canadians, Prince William cannot directly succeed Queen Elizabeth. After all, Prince Charles is the heir to the throne and he will be taking over his mother’s role in the near future.

But broadcaster Sherrie Hewson is convinced that the Queen will choose to bypass Prince Charles in favor of her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge. While speaking on the “Jeremy Vine Show,” Hewson also said that Her Majesty shouldn’t abdicate.

“Absolutely, no. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. I think everybody if you are not a royalist, adores the Queen. They love her, they think she’s been there 67 years – four years longer than Queen Victoria,” he said.

Hewson went on to say that he thinks the Queen deserves to be on the throne for as long as she wants to be there. But eventually, she would pass her throne to another member of the royal family, and it could be Prince William.

The Constitution Unit said earlier this month that there’s one obvious reason why Prince Charles won’t consider passing on the crown to Prince William. They said that the heir has been waiting to take over the British monarchy for six decades so it is only natural for him to want to be king one day.

But what may happen is for Prince Charles to hand over the throne to his eldest son after a few years of serving as king.
