Prince William inherited Princess Diana’s most admirable trait.

Princess Diana was known as the People’s Princess due to her charity works and genuine enthusiasm to help the people. This made her one of the most likable members of the royal family and her eldest son, Prince William, inherited the same attitude.

Princess Diana’s “streak for helping others has been passed down to her firstborn son: Prince William,” New Idea reported. This character is apparent when the Duke of Cambridge stepped up following the attack on two mosques in Christchurch that killed 50 people.

An official statement from the palace aid released a statement saying that New Zealand has a great affection for the Duke of Cambridge and the royal family. It added that it was Prince William’s decision to fly to the country to help the people.

“It was very much the Duke’s decision to come to New Zealand, he wanted to do something and not just something reactive. He worked with the country’s Prime Minister on the visit and the timing. It was decided that doing the trip a month after the attacks would give it a bit of a legacy,” the statement read.

During the visit, Prince William delivered a heartfelt speech at Al Noor mosque in Christchurch. He reminded them of Princess Diana’s passion for supporting the people through tough times by giving them words of comfort.

In his speech, Prince William mentioned how the terrorist tried to sow division and hatred in a place that stands for togetherness and selflessness. So, he is with them to show the world that the terrorist failed.

In 2010, Prince William visited New Zealand to open the new Supreme Court in Wellington in behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. According to royal biographer Robert Hardman in his book “Queen of the World,” the monarch could do it but sent her grandson because she had a “deliberate plan” of promoting the younger generation fo the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth II had no issues with long-haul travel at the time. In fact, she visited Australia a year later.

In related news, Kate Middleton is reportedly the biggest loser amid Prince William and Prince Harry’s rift. Fortunately, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s sons have already mended their issues. Prince Harry and Middleton were last seen at Anzac Day service and they looked happy. One netizen even dubbed the two “beautiful duo.”
