Prince William snubbed Kate Middleton years ago because of another pretty woman.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been happily married for over seven years. However, things weren’t smooth sailing back when Prince William and Middleton were still in their early 20s.

According to Katie Nicholl in her book “William and Harry,” Prince William and Middleton celebrated their 21st birthday separately in the summer of 2003. They attended each other’s birthday bash but weren’t treated the same.

“When William attended Kate’s belated 21st birthday party in June 2003 at her family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, the glance she threw him across the room when he walked into the 1920s-themed party was beyond platonic,” Nicholl wrote.

Later that month, the duke celebrated his own party at Windsor Castle but Middleton was “barely registering” on Prince William’s radar. The Duchess of Cambridge didn’t have the honor and pride to be seated next to Prince William because his eyes were glued to another “pretty” woman named Jecca Craig.

Nicholl added that Prince William had a crush on Jecca since their first encounter. Prince William and Jecca first met in 1998 during a holiday in Kenya. Jecca was very attractive. She was described as having long blonde hair, deep-blue eyes and gazelle-like legs.

“As Kate raised her champagne flute to toast the birthday prince at the aptly themed Out of Africa celebration at Windsor Castle, it was Jecca who had pride of place next to William at the head table,” Nicholl added.

Prince William and Jecca dated for a while and remained friends following their split. The Duke of Cambridge even skipped his cousin’s wedding to attend the nuptials of Jecca’s brother.

At Prince William’s cousin’s wedding, Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II met for the first time. During Prince William and Middleton’s engagement interview, the duke confused fans when he talked about Middleton and the Queen’s first meeting because he spoke as if he was there when the palace already announced that he would not make it due to a “long-standing prior engagement.”

During the same interview, Prince William and Middleton opened up about their split. The duke revealed that they parted ways because they were still too young at the time and were figuring out what they wanted for themselves.
