Prince William’s childhood is very different from Prince George’s childhood for one main reason.

According to Express royal correspondent Katie Harris, the way the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought up their eldest son is very different from Prince William’s upbringing. The second-in-line to the throne has known all along since his childhood years that he is bound to be king one day. On the other hand, Prince George doesn’t know it just yet.

On one of his outings, Prince William admitted that they are more focused on giving Prince George a sustainable environment than telling him about his future role in the monarchy.

“There’ll be a time and place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world. But right now it’s just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing as much love as I can as a father,” Prince William told the BBC.

Prince William added that they are a normal family. He was also hoping that his children would see how much he loves them.

On the other hand, Prince William was brought up to be king one day. He was told not to do a lot of things due to his fate as the future king.

According to Andrew Morton in his book “Diana: In Her Own Words,” when Prince William was still a child, he told his mom Princess Diana that he wanted to be a policeman so he could look after his mommy. However, Prince Harry discouraged his brother.

The little Duke of Sussex told the Duke of Cambridge that it’s not possible for Prince William to be a policeman because “you’ve got to be king!” On the other hand, Prince Harry would often boast the freedom he has since he is way down the line of succession.

According to Ken Wharfe on “Robert Jobson’s Royal Podcast,” one time Prince Harry made a declaration to his older brother. During a car ride with Princess Diana and their nanny, Prince Harry said something that Prince William “gleefully liked.”

“It's alright, I can do anything because I won't be King. You will be, therefore I can do what I want,” Prince Harry told Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge was reportedly happy because his younger brother acknowledged his future role as king.
