Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a big impact on the United Kingdom economy.

The children of Kate Middleton and Prince William have an influence on the British economy, but a recent reported showed that Princess Charlotte is worth $1.4 billion more than Prince George.

According to Reader's Digest, Princess Charlotte is worth $5 billion. On the other hand, her big brother is worth $3.6 billion. This value was calculated based on their estimated economic influence over their lifetimes.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's children are still too young, but their influence on the market cannot be questioned. In fact, the "Charlotte Effect" has led to several dresses in British stores being sold out in just a matter of hours.

When the 3-year-old princess was photographed with a pastel yellow John Lewis cardigan on her second birthday, the item was sold out within 24 hours. "Her yellow cardigan worn in her birthday picture sparked the biggest percentage increase in searches for an item of clothing worn by any royal," an eBay speaker said.

Olivier Baby & Kids clothing also experienced the Charlotte effect when the royal baby was seen wearing one of their designs. "We were thrilled when Princess Charlotte was photographed wearing our Rose Stitch Cardigan in her official first birthday pictures," Emma Davison, co-founder of Olivier Baby & Kids, said (via Daily Express).

"The effects have been hugely positive for a growing company like ours and have helped to establish our customer base all over the world," Davison continued. "Following the photographs we saw our international orders increase significantly, particularly from America and China and the Rose Stitch Cardigan remains our best-selling cardigan."

David Haigh, the brand finance CEO, said that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have the same influence as Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge is popular for her clothing, which has inspired many of her fans to imitate her looks. This also led to the birth of the RepliKate community.

"The royal children have a positive impact on the sales of particular clothes and toys brands they wear or play with," Haigh said. "They have a very similar effect on brands as their mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, who has a real Midas touch—everything she touches turns into gold."
