Princess Diana seemed happiest whenever she was with her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

In a throwback photo uploaded on Instagram by a royal fan, the trio posed for a series of pictures when Prince William and Prince Harry are roughly around the ages of 12 and 10, respectively.

The photo shows Princess Diana sitting in between her two boys smiling from ear to ear. Prince William is sitting on a stool beside his mom and his right arm is carefully placed on the late Princess of Wales’ shoulder.

Prince Harry is sitting on Princess Diana’s right side with his body stretched out on his mom’s lap. The Duke of Sussex, who didn’t show off his teeth, still looked very happy and at peace in the photo.

In the second and more candid snap, Princess Diana is looking at Prince Harry while laughing hysterically. Prince Harry shows off his goofy face while smiling, and Prince William couldn’t also contain his laughter.

Another photo shows Prince Harry hugging his mom on her shoulder, while Prince William sits beside Princess Diana from the other side of the room.

Before her death, Princess Diana shared a special bond with her sons. The late royal was also very protective of Prince William and Prince Harry. When the latter was born, Princess Diana was hurt over Prince Charles’ comment about Prince Harry’s appearance.

According to Good Housekeeping, as her sons got older, Princess Diana’s parenting style became tenser. Susan Constantine, a human behavioral expert and the author of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Reading Body Language,” shared her observations with the publication.

She said that Princess Diana typically placed her hand on her sons’ chest in potentially stressful situations. Several years late, Kate Middleton did the same trick when out in public with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Princess Diana was also the protector of her family because she typically placed her sons in between her legs when they are sitting down.
