Princess Diana meets her newest grandson, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in the most unique and touching way.

On Instagram, luxury portrait artist Autumn Ying created a beautiful drawing of Princess Diana with her newborn grandson. In the colorful picture, Meghan Markle is carrying Archie, while Prince Harry is holding his son’s head.

Princess Diana is standing beside her youngest son and she is also holding his arm. Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, is also part of the drawing. The yoga instructor is standing beside Markle and is looking almost directly at the camera.

All four relatives are smiling from ear to ear while celebrating the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child. Unfortunately for Archie, he would never have the chance to meet his grandmother in person.

Princess Diana passed away following a fatal car crash in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997. But even after her death, her sons have been trying their best to keep her legacy alive. In fact, Prince William has also made sure that his children would know about Princess Diana even though they were also unable to meet her.

During a previous interview, Prince William said that he has made it a point to share stories about his late mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. He also said that he and Kate Middleton raised their children knowing that they have two grandmothers: Princess Diana and Carole Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also included the late Princess of Wales’ moniker as one of Princess Charlotte’s names. The young royal’s full name is Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. She was born on May 2, 2015.

And during the royal couple’s children’s christening, they made sure to pick friends and relatives of Princess Diana. One of Princess Charlotte’s godmothers is Princess Diana’s niece. And one of Prince George’s godfathers was also very close to the late royal.
