PS5 custom faceplates are in production and fans can start pre-ordering now from a third-party outfit.

A business with a catchy name, PlateStation5.com is now offering five various custom faceplates for future PS5 owners. The plates are available in Cherry Red, Indigo Blue, Matte Black and Chromatic colors. Each set retails at $39.99 with front and back shells and available for both the standard and digital edition of Sony’s next-generation gaming console.

According to the site, the venture was rooted in the community’s desire to have a Matte Black PS5 shell. However, when they were starting, they were inspired to offer other color and customization options. PlateStation5.com ensures that these are unofficial products and in no way associated with PlayStation, Sony or the PS5 brand.

For now, the images, which are available below, are 3D renders of the designs. No actual product photos that show the finish, fit or color of these custom PS5 faceplates. There is no guarantee that these shells would fit smoothly with the PS5 until Sony releases its next-generation gaming console next month.

PlateStation5.com also offers a 10-day return policy for customers who are not happy with the product. The company said that it is closely working with manufacturers to ensure that the shells would fit both the disc-based PS5 and the digital edition.

Sony earlier released the official teardown video of the PS5, which confirmed that it could be removed. The video also offered the first look on the components of the upcoming gaming system. Sony has not explicitly confirmed that the white outer shell of the PS5 could be easily removed from the console. The theory is that owners would be able to replace the original casing with different faceplates in the future.

Several Twitter user earlier reported that some PS4 peripherals and DualSense 5 controllers are already on display at their local Walmart stores. PS5 accessories are scheduled to arrive on Oct. 30 in the U.S and Nov. 12 in the U.K. Meanwhile, the PS5 gaming console will release on Nov. 12 in North America and other select regions on Nov. 19 in Europe and the rest of the world.
