  • The PS5's official pre-order site is now live
  • Sony has not yet announced the exact release date of the PS5
  • A new report claimed that the PS5 would arrive in mid-November

Sony is reportedly eyeing at a Mid-November release date for the PS5, according to a new report. Video Games Chronicle claimed that the platform holder in the U.K. has booked significant advertising for the week starting November 13. The suggested launch timing of the PS5 could mean it could release alongside major titles like “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” and “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” and “Cyberpunk 2077.”

According to the site, several retail sources shared the same timeframe for the release of the PS5. Development and retail sources also reportedly agree that Xbox Series X would release ahead of the PS5. It might arrive probably in the first week of November, according to the report. Xbox sources allegedly indicated that the platform holder is also anticipating the PS5 to arrive within the week starting November 13.

Interestingly, it is not clear if Sony would adopt a staggered worldwide release schedule for the PS5 just like it has done with its previous gaming consoles. But, with a recent worldwide restructuring of Sony Interactive Entertainment, it is also possible that it could see a simultaneous global release. A recent post in Reddit from user Kgarvey, however, may suggest otherwise.

The Reddit user discovered at the official website of “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” that the PS5 would release later in other regions outside of the U.S. and Canada. The website states that the PS5 version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” is scheduled for release in the holiday of 2020 in the US and Canada. Meanwhile, the rest of the world would get it in the late part of 2020.

Earlier, SIE President Jim Ryan said that the PS5 would have a simultaneous global release. In other PS5 news, Sony officially launched the official pre-order site of the PS5. The next-gen gaming console is now up for pre-order.

The company also launched the Direct PS5 Pre-order program that gives select potential PS5 buyers the exact time window to place their order. Unfortunately, this initiative is only available to areas within the US. Sony has not yet revealed if it is going to launch a similar program for other regions.
