  • The prices of Ps5 and Xbox Series X may have been hinted at Best Buy's pre-order pages
  • Sony has not yet announced the price of the PS5
  • Microsoft earlier announced that the Xbox Series X arrives in November but it has not yet announced how much it would retail

Best Buy may have indirectly leaked the prices of PS5 and Xbox Series X in its pre-order pages, according to a new report. While Sony and Microsoft have already unveiled their next-generation gaming consoles to the consumers, both companies have not yet revealed how much their respective console would retail. Best Buy is now pairing the PS5 and Xbox Series X with a popular financing offer to help gamers.

In a report released by DualShockers, it spotted the pre-order pages of the PS5 and Xbox Series X at Best Buy. Both of the pre-order pages of the next-gen consoles feature a financing section at the bottom part, which suggests that it could retail at $499. The offer is 18-month financing for purchases of up to $499.

The site speculated that the financing offer of Best Buy seemingly frames an anticipated launch price of the Xbox Series X and PS5. The offer implies that it would be selling at around $499. What makes this offer interesting is that it changes from product to product depending on the cost of the item.

For instance, it lists the Nintendo Switch with a $300 financing option. The same financing option is being offered for purchases of Sony’s PlayStation 4. However, this does not mean that the Ps5 and Xbox Series X would retail at $499. The price could be just placeholders.

At the time of this writing, neither Sony nor Microsoft has announced the retail price of their respective next-gen gaming consoles. Rumors have it that Microsoft is planning to undercut Sony by offering the Xbox Series X at a much lower price. However, for this to materialize, Microsoft has to wait for Sony’s announcement, which until now is not happening.

Several rumors claim that the next-generation gaming consoles could retail at $600. It is worth noting that while these details are exciting, these are not official. In this case, it is wiser to take this information with a pinch of salt. Sony maintains that the PS5 is set to arrive in the Holiday of 2020 while Microsoft earlier confirmed that the Xbox Series X would arrive in November.
