Neymar reportedly could miss the upcoming meeting of his side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League next week.

After a rough tackle during PSG’s Coupe de France clash with Caen Wednesday, Neymar was forced off the field just after the second half had begun at the Stade Michel-d'Ornano. Even though PSG won the game, the French club is waiting to discover the extent of their star striker’s injury, as reported by Goal.

PSG’s young forward Moise Kean scored the only goal early in the second half before Neymar limped off the field. This has raised concerns about his trip to Barcelona, which is expected to be an emotional one for the former Catalan player.

A limping Neymar, who exited the ground way before the match ended, was replaced by his usual striker partner Kylian Mbappe, who came off the bench.

After the game, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino said that Neymar injured his adductor but did not mention how long that would keep the Brazilian playmaker out of action.

"It's hard to know now, we'll see [Thursday] with the doctor. For the moment, it's hard to say. Can he be there [at Barcelona] next week? I need more information. Is he affected in the adductors? Yes, " Pochettino was quoted by ESPN as saying in a post-match interview Wednesday.

PSG, who lost the Champions League final last season to Bayern Munich, would not want to lose Neymar for the crucial clash with Barcelona. The French side is already going to be without a team member injured as Angel di Maria suffered a thigh issue last Sunday during a match against Marseille.
