  • Paul Pogba is contracted with Manchester United until 2022
  • He has scored only once this season for Man Utd
  • He made a $118 million return to Old Trafford in 2016

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were struck with a major blow after Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola Monday said that his client was "unhappy" at Old Trafford and it would be best if Pogba changed his club next summer.

Pogba has made 13 appearances for Manchester United in 2020-21, starting only six and he recently netted his first goal of the ongoing campaign that came in his side’s fourth-round League Cup fixture against Brighton.

"Paul at Manchester United is unhappy, he is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him. He has to change teams, he has to change the air," Raiola told Italian publication Tuttosport.

Pogba, who rejoined Manchester United from Juventus on a $118 million transfer in 2016, is contracted with the Premier League side until 2022, and Raiola in the Tuttersport interview has also revealed that the 27-year-old midfielder is not looking to sign an extension. Moreover, Pogba has never kept his desire to play for Real Madrid a secret.

"Pogba’s contract will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell it to the next market. Otherwise, the Old Trafford club, with whom the relations are excellent, knows that they would risk losing him on a free transfer, given that for the moment it is not the player's intention to extend the contract. If someone doesn't understand it, ergo they understand little about football. In any case, let them blame me if Paul leaves next summer," added Raiola in the same interview.

Even though it was earlier reported that Pogba and Manchester United were in talks over a new five-year deal, the player’s ‘super agent’ Raiola has now made it clear that Pogba’s time at Old Trafford is over.

"It is useless to go around it. Better to speak clearly, look ahead and not waste time, " further said Raiola, who handles a glamorous bunch of clients such as Ibrahimovich, De Ligt, Haaland to name a few apart from Pogba.
