Rapper Fetty Wap (who was born Willie Maxwell) was reportedly hospitalized Saturday after getting into a motorcycle accident in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. There has not yet been an official confirmation, but several Twitter users wrote that a car knocked the 25-year-old "Trap Queen" rapper off his bike.

"Man I hope Fetty Wap is okay he just crashed his motorcycle out here in Paterson smh," one Twitter user posted. DJ Akademiks has been providing fans with updates on his Twitter page, where he claimed Fetty Wap was "responsive" when paramedics arrived on the scene. However, it wasn't clear whether the rapper was wearing a helmet at the time of the purported accident. International Business Times has reached out to Fetty Wap's team, but has not yet heard back.

Sources told TMZ Fetty Wap was attempting to switch lanes to get around a vehicle when his motorcycle collided with a car coming in the opposite direction. WNYW-TV reporter Lisa Evers tweeted the rapper is currently at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson and that he was riding a brand-new bike.
