After much speculation, it looks like the ‘90s girl group, the Spice Girls, will finally come back together for a special reunion. While fans are thrilled about the big news, it seems the tour is only happening after one group member, Victoria Beckham, finally agreed to reunite with her old group.

When the group broke up in 2000, the five members, Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton, focused on their solo careers.

Although Beckham eventually made the successful transition into a fashion designer, she did reunite with the group in 2007, but they disbanded again in 2012.

Since then, Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, has seemed dedicated to her fashion career but recently had a change of heart about a Spice Girls reunion due to boredom in her life.

Insiders told TMZ, the star has grown tired of living in David Beckham’s shadow.

Although the singer and her husband have very different careers, hers in music and fashion and his as a superstar athlete, the mother of four is looking to “individualize herself” and believes rejoining the Spice Girls will do that.

Beckham reportedly agreed to the tour due to her desire to no longer to sit on the sidelines. She is also interested in the money she will rake in from her performances.

The ladies are not expected to get paid equally and Beckham is well aware she can demand more money than her other group members.

“They are worth more as a group than they are individually, so this is a great venture for all of them,” a source told the media outlet.

Girl power is also a driving force in Beckham’s return to the group. The star told the Mirror she believes the reunion will send a positive message to women.

“The Time’s Up and #MeToo movements have shone a light on how powerful we can be when we work together to bring about change. That is incredibly inspiring,” she said.

“My career has always focused on empowering and celebrating women, so the momentum that these movements brought only makes me even more determined and passionate in my beliefs,” she added.

The Spice Girls are expected to tour towards the end of the summer, kicking things off in England and making their way to the United States for more shows.
