Reese Witherspoon has a striking resemblance to her daughter, Ava, that her four-year-old son, Tennessee, gets confused between them.

The "Big Little Lies" star is set to grace the cover of Southern Living's September issue, where she shared a funny anecdote involving her two children.

"The kids all have funny and unique relationships with each other. Ava is like another parent to Tennessee, like his other mother," Witherspoon, 41, told the publication. "I think sometimes he even gets confused -- he told Ava 'Happy Mother's Day!'"

Witherspoon's resemblance with her 17-year-old daughter, Ava, is unquestionable. On the Fourth of July, the "Walk the Line" star shared a selfie of them together by the beach on Instagram. "Happy 4th y'all! #GoldenHour @avaphillippe, " Witherspoon wrote in the caption. Not long after, her fans reacted to their photo suggesting that the mother and daughter looked like twin sisters.

"Legit twins @tiannanichole," one fan commented. "You two look like sisters," another one wrote in the comment section. "Amazing how beautiful and identical your daughter is to you! @reesewitherspoon shows no signs of aging," another user commented. Another fan even asked the celebrity mom which one she is in the photo.

Aside from getting confused between his mom and sister, Witherspoon added that her tot is like a protégé to his older brother, Deacon, 13, whom the "Legally Blonde" star shares with ex-husband Ryan Philippe. Tennessee is "just sort of like Deacon's protégé. He follows his older brother around the house all day."

On being a working mom, Witherspoon admitted that it is not easy, but she believes that by doing so she is setting a good example to her kids to work hard. "My mom worked, and I think it's good for kids to see women working and being successful. I think it's going to make them hard workers because they see that I don't get much sleep," the "Sweet Home Alabama" star told People.

According to the mom-of-three, her older kids help her with Tennessee. She added that she wants them to grow up with passion because "this is the one life you get, and you have to live it to the very end." Just this month, Witherspoon's daughter, Ava, was spotted working in a pizza restaurant in an affluent Hollywood suburb, Daily Mail reported.
