Mississippi Hate Crime Suspect Deryl Dedmon Isolated from Other Inmates

Mississippi authorities believe Dedmon and a group of white teens intentionally ran over James Craig Anderson on June 26, in an attempt to kill him because of his skin color. Prior to mowing down Anderson, 49, with a pickup truck, the teens first beat him as he stood in a hotel parking lot that morning, teens told police during an interview. They then ran him down with a large Ford pickup truck and Anderson died the same day.

American Hikers Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison in Iran

Two American hikers arrested in Iran two years ago were sentenced to eight years in prison for espionage and illegal entry despite pleas from U.S. authorities, Iranian state TV reported. On Saturday, Iranian TV reported that judicial sources have said Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal were each given five-year prison sentences for spying and an additional three years for entering the country illegally. It is unknown if the two will get any credit for time served. They were arrested in July 2009.

A funeral service was held on Saturday for Florida megachurch pastor Zachery Tims who was found dead in a New York City hotel room last week. The circumstances surrounding Tims' death is still a mystery and the 8,000 members of the New Destiny Christian Center, which was run by Tims, will have to start moving forward and begin rebuilding without knowing what resulted in the death of their leader.

Seattle Genetics: FDA Approves Adcetris to Treat Lymphomas

Adcetris is an antibody-drug that targets a type of lymphoma cell called CD30. It is the first treatment approved by the FDA for fighting Hodgkin lymphoma since 1977, and also the first made to specifically treat anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
