  • A tweet from a Capcom official hints that crows will terrorize an upcoming "Resident Evil" game
  • Fans believe the tweet indicates that crows will be featured in "Resident Evil 3 Remake"
  • This is not confirmed yet, however

Once it arrives later this year, “Resident Evil 3 Remake” will put players in the shoes of Jill Valentine as she fights her way through the zombie-infested streets and structures of Raccoon City while escaping the terrifying Nemesis, from whom the game is named after.

A recent tweet from a Capcom official, however, seems to indicate that Jill will have to contend with another type of enemy that's long been missing from many of the series titles.

According to survival-horror games-focused website Rely On Horror, a tweet coming from the marketing planner for the “Resident Evil” Ambassador Program, Tsuyoshi Otani, seemed to indicate that an upcoming “Resident Evil” game will feature crows.

The tweet featured a 42-second video showing a huge number of crows as they occupied a parking lot. Hundreds of these birds can be seen on screen, some of them standing on the ground, perched atop vehicles and signages, and flying around as if they were migrating to that place.

The tweet was accompanied by a blurb that, as per Google Translate, said “Something will come out in a certain survival horror game... #REBHFun.”

Rely On Horror noted that these birds, along with other creatures like spiders and moths, were featured in “Resident Evil” titles but were not present in “Resident Evil 2 Remake,” leading many players to miss them.

Crows, for one, were last featured as enemies in the original “Resident Evil 3” and “Resident Evil Zero.” After that, they weren't enemies that needed to be fought anymore. “Resident Evil 4” and “Resident Evil 5,” for example, didn't present them as threats.

What if?

Of course, because Otani's tweet didn't explicitly say that crows will come to “Resident Evil 3 Remake,” there's a possibility that they won't be there to add to Jill's troubles. And given that Otani works as marketing planner for the “Resident Evil” Ambassador Program, there's a possibility that these birds will join another upcoming title instead.

This upcoming game remains a mystery at the moment, though. IGN reported that last December, Ambassador Program members received emails informing them that a new, “unannounced title” was about to enter its testing phase.

Capcom hasn't revealed the game's title yet, but considering how the game company has already announced “Resident Evil 3 Remake” and “Project Resistance” at the time the emails were sent, it's clear that it's a new title.

Nevertheless, it's interesting to see whether “Resident Evil 3 Remake” will feature crows. If it does, players will have more than just Nemesis, the Hunters and zombies to run away from.
