After staying up to ring in the new year, cooking might be the last thing on many Americans’ to-do lists on Jan. 1.

Numerous big U.S. chains have decided to keep some or all locations open on the government holiday. Operation hours have taken on heightened importance due to the pandemic.

Well-known chains known for their early hours, such as Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Denny’s should have many of their locations open. Restaurants that cater to lunch and dinner crowds should also have their doors open to begin 2021.

Chains' official websites provide a look at what exactly is open and closed and their specific hours of operation.

Below are popular chains that will have some or all locations open, as well as their hours.
