  • Vicki Gunvalson and Steve Lodge have broken up after their 2-year engagement
  • The gubernatorial hopeful was reportedly the one who initiated the split
  • The reality star was “traumatized” and “not OK” after learning about her ex’s decision

Vicki Gunvalson is officially single after the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum’s engagement to former fiancé Steve Lodge was terminated by the latter.

The 62-year-old retired police officer reportedly initiated the split. He allegedly called off his engagement to the 59-year-old television personality while she was filming the Peacock spinoff “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” in the Berkshires, Us Weekly reported Tuesday.

“Steve broke up with Vicki while she was filming the [Real Housewives] spinoff show in the Berkshires,” a source was quoted as saying by the entertainment news outlet.

The source added that the breakup came as a shock to Gunvalson and she was traumatized after Lodge told her his decision.

“After he told her this, she was traumatized. It ruined her. She didn’t want to be at the [Dorinda Medley’s] house anymore,” the source said.

The pair just recently reconciled after breaking up in June. At the time, it was Gunvalson who initiated the split. It seems she was somewhat hopeful that things would work out between them after they rekindled their romance.

Although the reason behind their breakup was not disclosed, insiders alluded to distance as a key factor on why the gubernatorial hopeful ultimately decided to leave the reality star.

“Steve and Vicki had been living separately for much of the pandemic. Steve had been living like he was a single man in Puerto Vallarta, while Vicki was in the U.S.,” an insider told E! News this week.

Fresh from their split, Gunvalson is “a mess” and is “not OK,” according to another Us Weekly tipster. “She’s in terrible shape. She still loves him.”

Gunvalson and Lodge started dating in 2016 after meeting at a charity event. They got engaged in April 2019 and initially planned to tie the knot exactly a year later. However, their wedding was postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Around the same time news about their split broke, Gunvalson deleted all photos of her former beau from her Instagram. Their engagement announcement was also nowhere to be found on her account. The exes have also unfollowed each other on social media, according to Page Six.

Their breakup comes days after sources revealed that Gunvalson fought with her “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” co-stars on the set of the show because of her staunch aversion to the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Coto Insurance CEO has maintained that she is not an anti-vaxxer even though she is strongly against the jabs. Her verbal exchange with Medley over the vaccine is likely to be “a big storyline” on the show, said one source.
