Richard Enthoven is a South African billionaire who has an expansive reach in the business industry. This includes Nando's, the world-famous multinational fast-food chain that focuses on flame-grilled peri-peri style chicken, which has more than 1,200 stores in 30 countries.

The billionaire entrepreneur is also the CEO of the Australian-based Hollard Insurance Group, which includes Hollard Insurance, Hollard Financial Services and Real Insurance. Enthoven was estimated to have a net worth of $1.1 billion as of 2015, a massive fortune that might have significantly grown since then, as per Bloomberg.

Enthoven worked as a regional underwriting assistant for American International Group, or AIG, South American operations. He also used to work as project manager for United Financial Casualty Company. In 1999, the entrepreneur moved to Sydney and established Hollard, which has since grown exponentially and has become one of the leading companies in the Australian market, Insurance Business Mag reported.

In 2017, the billionaire was also appointed president and chairman of the Insurance Council of Australia, a position that he served for two years. Enthoven now leads the ICA’s financial inclusion committee and is a member of the advisory board of Head Over Heels, a nonprofit organization that supports women-owned businesses.

Enthoven sold his Point Pier waterfront property in 2019 for a lucrative $21.8 million. The sale of the real estate was one of only five that were purchased for more than $20 million in that year. The billionaire bought the home with his wife, Karen Enthoven, for $18 million in 2015, Real Estate Australia has learned.

The home is equipped with five bedrooms, five bathrooms and has an expansive living room with a simplistic white design. The exterior of the property is lined with glass windows that allow the owners a majestic view of the environment.

But recently, Nando’s was forced to shut down multiple restaurants in the United Kingdom, citing shortages of the fast-food chain’s signature peri-peri chicken. About 45 stores across England, Scotland and Wales were closed, a spokesperson for the company said on Wednesday.

The firm added that it has already sent employees to try and acquire the chickens from suppliers in an effort to alleviate the shortage. Nando’s is the latest restaurant chain in the U.K. to be affected by a shortage of supply due to a lack of workers within the process. U.K. chicken distributors were the core problem that resulted in the situation, according to CNN.
