Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are famous for starring as star-crossed lovers in the popular “Twilight” film franchise but it appears the careers of the acting duo is just getting started.

Two years after wrapping the final “Twilight” film (and 12 months after ending their three-year romance), the former on-screen duo turned off-screen lovers are rumored to be top contenders for some of Hollywood’s biggest upcoming roles. According to reports, Pattinson, 28, is up for the lead in “Indiana Jones 5” with Stewart, 24, reportedly on the short list for Bill Condon’s live-action feature “Beauty and the Beast.”

The Daily Star was the first to publish reports that Pattinson, best known for playing Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga,” is a contender to take Harrison Fords’ place in the upcoming Steven Spielberg reboot. “Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from ‘Twilight’ but the competition will be stiff,” a source recently told the gossip site.

Despite the tabloid’s claims that Ford, 71, is reportedly getting “too old” to play the action hero and that Disney was looking for a “long term option” to star in the franchise, the casting rumor is reportedly just that. “Sources tell us there's no truth to the rumors,” E! News reported Wednesday.

While Pattinson’s “Indy” role may not come to fruition, Stewart is reportedly a top contender for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon’s upcoming film, “Beauty and the Beast.” While there is no official word of Stewart’s alleged new role, Hollywoodlife is reporting that Stewart is practically a shoe-in to play Belle in the live-action feature.

“The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle,” an insider told the site, adding that the film star currently has a “50/50” chance of starring as the book-loving brunette.
