KEY POINTS

  • Riddle and Reigns are set to face off on SmackDown
  • Reigns is the undisputed WWE and Universal Champion
  • Riddle is a part of the RK-Bro team, along with Randy Orton

A stipulation has been added to the upcoming fight between Roman Reigns and Riddle on SmackDown.

The stipulation is a series of one-fall matches featuring multiple competitors, with the wrestler who loses being eliminated from future fights until the final wrestler remains. It implies that if Riddle fails to beat Reigns in their Universal Championship match, he won't be able to challenge the Tribal Chief again for the coveted belt, according to WWE's official Twitter account.

On last Friday's SmackDown, it was revealed that Reigns would be defending his Universal Championship against Riddle, who is a part of the RK-Bro team, along with Randy Orton.

However, appearing as a guest on the MizTV segment of Monday night's RAW, Paul Heyman broke the news about the added stipulation. Previously, Riddle had stated that both Reigns and Heyman were unaware of what he was truly capable of.

Reacting to Riddle's challenge, Heyman had earlier tweeted, "Those who rebel against the #TribalChief on the Island of Relevancy run the risk at their own peril of @WWERomanReigns dealing with them personally!!!"

It definitely won't be an easy task as Riddle, who is set to mark his first attempt at a WWE World Championship belt, is up against Reigns, whose Universal Championship streak goes back to August 2020. He now holds the record of holding the vicious belt for over 600 weeks.

Reigns became the undisputed WWE and Universal Champion by defeating then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in April.

Riddle bagged the golden opportunity at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship when he defeated Sami Zayn, who is a member of the Bloodline, on last week's SmackDown.

Earlier it was believed that Reigns and Riddle's championship battle was scheduled for the Money in the Bank event in July. However, Reigns now has been removed from the event's advertisements by the WWE Company. Reigns is also due to face off against Orton at SummerSlam on July 30 and Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle on Sept. 3.
