Oscar-nominated actress Rosie Perez will leave “The View” next month to focus on her acting, the ABC show’s executive producer announced Tuesday. The 50-year-old actress will reportedly have her last day on the finale episode of this season on Aug. 6.

"Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show at the conclusion of this season to pursue full time her love for acting," Bill Wolff reportedly said, in an email to employees. "Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive. And beyond being an enormously talented performer, Rosie is a dedicated advocate who has brought passion and insight to the panel every day.

"Rosie will always be a part of 'The View' family, and we will welcome her back as a guest anytime to catch up," Wolff added.

Perez joined "The View" in September 2014 along with Nicole Wallace. In January, reports surfaced that Perez may be exiting the show, but at that time, she only took a brief break to appear on Broadway. Less than a month later, ABC News confirmed that comedian Rosie O’Donnell was leaving the show.
