BTS fans have another reason to be excited this month as the septet returns for a new season of “Run BTS.”

The group announced the return of the well-loved reality show Monday ending the 10-month hiatus of the show following its last episode in October 2021. BTS unveiled the happy news in a special 31-second video uploaded to its official YouTube page, Bangtan TV.

“We did some recharging and brought more fun back with us. We hope you’ll look forward to it,” Jin said in the video. The new episodes will premiere on August 16 and can be viewed on Weverse, V Live and YouTube.

At the end of their announcement, they jammed to a portion of their latest track, “Run BTS,” a cut from their new album “PROOF” which dropped in June. “Looks like that’s the opening,” Suga told J-Hope who replied, “Yes, it’s perfect.”

Eager viewers immediately took to the comments section of the video and posted their excitement for the show’s return.

A fan wrote, “Omg can't even tell how much i missed them seeing together & run bts has always been a mood booster for me! I'm so happy they will be back with new episodes!”

“I am so excited to watch Run BTS. I will wake up early so I can watch it in real-time. I miss you all,” another wrote.

On Twitter, a fan noticed the timing of the announcement and wrote, “THEY ANNOUNCED RUN BTS COMEBACK ON THE DAY OF ITS ANNIVERSARY.”

Another fan realized the story behind a photo previously uploaded by Jin on his Instagram page and wrote, “SO THIS JIN PHOTOS THAT WE CAPTURED & POSTED ON HIS INSTAGRAM WAS THE TIME WHEN THEY FILMED FOR RUN BTS. IT WAS PLANNED FOR A LONG TIME!”

Early last month, BTS was spotted filming a secret project in Seoul, according to tweets compiled by Koreaboo and in this tweet showing Jungkook seemingly bent on a mission as he walked the streets of Gangnam. The fan wrote, "BTS Spotted On The Streets Of Gangnam Filming For A Mysterious Project."

Following the announcement, it appears that Jimin, J-Hope, RM, Suga, Jungkook, V and Jin were filming an episode of "Run BTS" near the location of the old building of their music label then known as BigHit Entertainment before it was rebranded as Big Hit Music by its parent company, HYBE Corporation.
