  • Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively met on the set of "Green Lantern"
  • They were friends for a year before they went on a double date
  • Reynolds shared that he pretty much begged Lively to sleep with him

Ryan Reynolds got candid about his relationship with Blake Lively in his recent interview.

Reynolds appeared on the "SmartLess" podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. He shared with them how he made his first move on "The Shallows" actress.

"I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called 'Green Lantern,'" Reynolds was quoted by People, as saying. "We were friends and buddies and about a year and a half later we went on a double date but we were dating separate people."

He added that they "hung out" and "always kind of kept in touch but casually" before they officially dated.

"Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, 'Well, I'll ride with you.' We got on the train and we rode together," he added. "I was just begging her to sleep with me."

When asked how fast their relationship went from dating to a more lasting commitment, he said it was "like out of a fairytale."

"A week later I was like, 'We should buy a house together,'" he continued. "And we did."

Reynolds and Lively exchanged wedding vows on Sept. 9, 2012, in South Carolina. They have been married for almost a decade. The Hollywood stars share three daughters together, James, 6, Inez, 4, and Betty 1.

The couple is popular for their playful attitude and habit of trolling each other online. In April, the couple poked fun at each other on social media after getting their COVID-19 vaccine shots.

The "Deadpool" star shared a snap of himself wearing a white tee and pink beanie and a black face mask while the professional administered the shot. He used the photo op to #HotorNot his wife.

"Science is sexy. The hat? Perhaps not," he wrote.

In a subsequent post, he shared a side-by-side photo of himself and Lively where they were both wearing beanies. Lively was also seen wearing a blue hat taken from the set of her movie "The Rhythm Section."

"Who wore it better?" Reynolds asked in a poll. The majority, about 53%, favored the actor over Lively.

Lively also spoke up about her marriage to Reynolds in a previous interview. She noted that their friendship played a huge role in the quality of their relationship.

"We were friends for two years before we were ever dating. And I treat him like my girlfriend," Lively said. "I’m like, ‘Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?’ And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy."
