All eyes were on Salma Hayek as she posed on the red carpet for the premiere of the romantic drama “Carol” on Sunday. The actress was a vision in purple as she donned a Gucci gown at the 68th Cannes Film Festival, according to Express UK.

The bright jewel-hued confection featured a structured skirt and fell straight to the floor, while showing off plenty of cleavage due to its plunging neckline. The dress was cinched at the waist and showed off the Mexico-born actress’s trim waistline. The mother of one accessorized the daring dress with a silver necklace and a matching clutch bag, paired with some elegant silver rings. She wore her brunette locks in bouncy curls and added a slick of hot pink lipstick.

The 48-year-old actress was joined by her husband François-Henri Pinault on the red carpet as she posed for photographers. They posed for pictures together before the film, which stars Cate Blanchett. Hayek married the Kering CEO in February 2009 and the couple have a 7-year-old daughter.

At a recent U.N. women’s panel event in Cannes, Hayek opened up about her experience with sexism in Hollywood. Commenting on the issue of pay inequality in the film industry, she said that it was due to plain and simple ignorance. “They think the only value we bring to a movie is as an object. Our pay can never go up because we never get the opportunity to show what we can bring in revenue.”

Hayek, who is in Cannes to promote her movie “Tale of Tales,” has another passion project that she has been talking up: her animated adaptation of Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran’s work “The Prophet.” Hayek screened a portion of the film at last year’s festival and can’t wait to show the whole movie. It features the voices of Liam Neeson and Quvenzhané Wallis. It has also brought Hayek in touch with her Lebanese roots. Recently, the actress made an emotional trip to her ancestral homeland to visit with Syrian refugees.
