A new report claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 might have a battery that’s smaller than previously expected, but will come in various storage options that would be big enough for the power user.

According to Indian blog 91mobiles, unnamed but trusted sources say that the previously reported smartphone code named SM-N975 is not the Galaxy Note 10 Pro, but actually the standard Galaxy Note 10 model. A smartphone with the code name SM-N976, on the other hand, is the Galaxy Note 10 Pro.

The two phones, the report said, are known as Project D2 and Project D2-X, respectively. The sources also said that despite the differences in their specs, both of them are expected to feature a 4,170 mAh battery, which is significantly smaller than the 4,500 mAh previous rumors kept pointing to.

91mobiles is the same blog that released renders of the Galaxy Note 10 a few days ago.

Might be wrong

PhoneArena noted how the information might be wrong as the Galaxy Note 10 Pro is expected to be almost the same size as that of the Galaxy S10 5G which features a 4,500mAh battery.

Although the Note 10 has an S Pen that will limit the size of the battery, it will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and feature a realigned camera that just might give more room for a taller battery. Still, these changes do not guarantee a large or small battery size.

Internal storage

While the battery size might be disappointing, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Pro’s other specs might make up for that.

The unnamed sources said the standard Galaxy Note 10 will have a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display and 128 GB base storage. The Galaxy Note 10 Pro, on the other hand, will have a slightly bigger 6.8-inch Super AMOLED display and 256 GB base storage. The Pro version’s storage option maxes out at 1 TB.

These large storage options will be supported by at least 8 GB of RAM, and either an Exynos 9825 chip, or a Snapdragon 855 SoC. The Exynos 9825 is Samsung’s latest chip, designed to best the Exynos 9820 that powers the Galaxy S10.

These smartphones are rumored to have 5x zoom cameras, come in five colors, and might have 45W fast charging.
