  • Leaked renders reveal that Samsung's upcoming high-end handset will feature 100X digital zoom
  • The other two devices will feature weaker cameras, but these are still better than those of earlier models
  • Those who preorder the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S20+ will get Galaxy Buds+ as well

Leaked renders reveal that one of Samsung's upcoming flagships will feature a camera with up to 100x digital zoom.

Previous reports indicated that Samsung's upcoming flagships will have better specs compared to their predecessors. One of these spec improvements comes in the form of an enhanced camera setup that promises to do better than what the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series of devices could do.

One of the major improvements to the camera setups on the Galaxy S20 (previously called S11) series is improved zoom capabilities. In December, previous reports speculated that the upcoming lineup will feature “Space Zoom,” a camera setup that has up to 100x digital zoom. Now, a leak proves that it's true and fans will get the chance to enjoy it once the new handsets arrive.

Noted leaker Evan Blass recently tweeted images of the three devices included in the Galaxy S20 range: the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. All three make use of a larger camera module at the back, but one of them features a unique camera module with a specific feature.

Per renders, the Galaxy S20 will have a three-camera setup. XDA Developers reported that this is comprised of a 12MP main sensor, a 64 telephoto lens, and a 12MP wide-angle camera. The Galaxy S20+, on the other hand, has a camera setup similar to the one on the Galaxy S20, but with the addition of a Time of Flight sensor.

The camera modules at the back of the two handsets look similar despite the addition of a fourth sensor on the Galaxy S20+'s camera setup. The module at the back of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, however, looks different.

Per renders, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a wider camera module that looks divided into two part. The upper part contains cameras and the LED flash. The bottom part, on the other hand, has a camera and a label that says “Space Zoom 100X.” The Galaxy S20 Ultra's camera setup is comprised of a 108MP main sensor, 48MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle camera, and a ToF sensor along with zoom lens.

Blass also leaked a promotional image that indicates that those who pre-order a Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S20+ will get the Galaxy Buds+ as well.
