Samsung Electronics America has finally confirmed speculations that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have another color option. The release date of the Coral Blue versions of the two flagship smartphones has also been revealed.

On Wednesday, Samsung Electronics America announced via Samsung Newsroom the addition of the Coral Blue option into the mix of color variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets. Interested consumers will get the chance to own any of the two starting this Friday, July 21. Samsung has tapped Best Buy to sell the blue colored Android flagship phones. Aside from Best Buy, consumers can also purchase the new units directly from Samsung.com.

Design

Based on the official renders of the Coral Blue devices, the front bezels will remain black while the back panels will be in a muted blue color. According to Android Police, the color variant is very similar to the one that Samsung introduced with the defunct Galaxy Note 7 and the re-released Galaxy S7 Edge. The only difference here is the absence of the gold accents found on last year’s offerings. Thus, what consumers are getting here is a Galaxy S8 or a Galaxy S8+ with a different back color.

Discounts

Consumers who will be purchasing their phones from Best Buy can choose from carrier-specific versions. It has been revealed that the two handsets will be available in Verizon, AT&T and Sprint versions. For those who do not want the carrier versions, they can simply buy the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at Best Buy or at Samsung.com.

There’s a good reason to grab the phone from Best Buy though. From July 21 until July 29, Best Buy is slashing $400 off the retail price of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ AT&T handsets provided the customer is qualified to make the purchase. Samsung.com will also have a limited time promo that will slash $150 off the retail price of the Coral Blue and Midnight Black color variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Samsung.com also has a Trade-In program that allows smartphone owners to exchange their eligible devices with unlocked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Specs & Features

Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones back in April. The two flagship phones stunned the world with their unique design that’s all thanks to their bezel-less Infinity Display. The Galaxy S8 houses a 5.8-inch screen, while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch display panel. The bezel-less design has also helped the phones to be more compact than their rival flagship devices.

Both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ house the industry’s first 10 nm chip that gives them outstanding speed and powerful performance. The handsets are IP68 water- and dust-resistant, and they come with fast and wireless charging capabilities. The standout feature of the two is Bixby, Samsung’s advanced voice assistant that’s designed to take on Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Google Assistant.
