A report provides a great amount of detail regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch 3. Here's what every fans should know.

Samsung is reportedly working on new devices and accessories. One (or two) of these is the successor to the Galaxy Watch, the interestingly named Galaxy Watch 3. There will be two variants of the wearable, varying mostly in overall size and display width.

Here's a quick look at what the Galaxy Watch 3's specs and features, according to SamMobile:

Two variants

Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy Watch 3 in two sizes: a 41mm model and a 45mm model. Both of them are said to run on Samsung's Tizen OS 5.5 out of the box, come with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.

The two devices are sadi to come in both stainless steel and titanium variants, and will feature the physical rotating bezel absent in the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Watch Active2. They are IP68 rated for water resistance, allowing users to take them to depths of up to 50 meters for up to 10 minutes. They also are designed MIL-STD-810G tough.

Both wearables will feature a heart rate monitor that has 8 pulse-reading photodiodes and support for blood pressure monitoring. They will also feature an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor, although it's currently unclear if the ECG function will be available at launch.

Specifics

Now here's a look at the specific specs that differ between the 41mm and 45mm models.

  • 41mm

The smaller Galaxy Watch 3 will sport a 1.2-inch display, which is covered by Gorilla Glass DX. The device's dimensions will be 41 x 42.5 x 11.3mm. It will have a 247 mAh battery, which is the same size as that of the one in the smaller Galaxy Watch Active2.

  • 45mm

The larger Galaxy Watch 3, on the other hand, will have a 1.4-inch display, covered by Gorilla Glass DX as well. The device's dimensions will be 45 x 46.2 x 11.1mm. It will have a 340 mAh battery, which is expected to power the device for a long time, just like the one on the Galaxy Watch Active2.
