  • Samsung is expected to unveil a slew of new devices on Aug. 5
  • These include the new Galaxy Watch 3
  • Several reports say the device is already in retail stores ahead of launch

Samsung is already stocking retailers with Galaxy Watch 3 units ahead of its announcement tomorrow, reports reveal.

Multiple sources speaking to various reporters revealed that Target and Best Buy already have Samsung's new smartwatch in stock and ready for sale in the event that the South Korean company gives them the go-ahead.

Already In Best Buy

One source speaking with Android Authority said that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has been spotted inside a Best Buy store. The tipster didn't provide the tech site with the exact branch and location but did provide some images showing many units placed in a locked rack.

The report said the tipster tried to purchase one, but the Best Buy staff refused and moved the locked rack off the sales floor and away from consumer's curious eyes.

The photos shared by the tipster showed the new device inside white boxes that have an image of the new wearable in front and the words “Samsung Galaxy Watch 3” on the side. The images showed that the device comes in a variety of colors, as indicated in the case and strap color.

Already In Target

The other report, coming from XDA Developers' Max Weinbach, revealed that the Galaxy Watch 3 is also already in Target. The reporter tweeted, “if you go to a Target and ask for a 'mystic bronze bluetooth 41mm noblesse' they can sell it to you today if they have it in inventory.”

Weinbach added that he was told that “the street date of everything else would be Thursday. My guess is you'll be able to buy the Galaxy Watch3 (sic) and get it in store on Thursday.”

The “Thursday” Weinbach may be referring to could be the day after Samsung is scheduled to host its Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event. The South Korean tech giant is expected to reveal a slew of new devices, including the Galaxy Watch 3, on Aug. 5.

More details to come

The two reports do not provide much detail about the device. Weinbach's tweet, however, indicated that it will come in a 41mm variant as previously reported. Fans are advised to wait for Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event to find out more about the upcoming wearable and other new devices.
